Yeah. Some days you just can't think about chess, it happens.
going crazy by playing to many games
I got a little fed up one point, just take a break and go more slowly. Think about all your moves and your win rate will go up.
im trying to get rid of some games slowly, thanks. just it happened suddenly seeming other days with all theses games i didnt have any trouble playing them all and i have never played this terrible before
Man, I'm with ASpieboy. There's nothing like playing 3-5 games and thinking thru your moves. After all what are we trying to prove playing so many games? It's not about how many games you play, but the quality of each game. Perfecting an opening. Improving your middle game etc. NOT THE NUMBER OF GAMES YOU PLAY! Slow down and enjoy yourself. I'm down to about 12-13 and won't stop until I reach about 5 or so.
its true but i like to play a little bit fast(few moves a day against 1 opponent_
but i got about 14 games with ANIKO and she moves terribly slow also got a 2400 rated player whos playing a lot of games ( victormpm) and he/she moves 1 move each day, so i started some more games entered tournaments and kept paying games against the players i met there, 3-5 seems to less for me but 20-30 would be perfect analyzing my move for about 10 minute to make sure i dont make mistakes
I agree, I'm pretty much only doing tournys and team matches now in an attempt to bring the number of games I play down a bit. More than 10 at a time and I can't think them through at all, I just looses due to sloppy misses and stupid blunders.
sometimes i feel like i've been staring at so many games my eyes cross. i began playing poorly and swore that i'd cut down my number of games to below 30. then i'm really itching for some new games, and i load up a couple tourneys and now i'm back over 60.
if you're like me and just can't help yourself, i'd recommend making some notes on each game (even if they don't have anything to do with chess) to make each game stand out as unique and jog your memory if you're planning a trap or sneak attack or it's just been awhile since the last move (like those long vacation takers). it also helps if you practice with the mentor, and i will often times go through every move of a game (or at least the last few) before making a decision. also don't be afraid to simply skip to the next game if you aren't confident in any move you see, and take regular breaks (i recommend hulu.com)
chin up heejo, you'll get your groove back
haha thanks ill try it maybe i should throw some simpsons between it 2 minutes ago i made another terrible mistake so im takeing abreak from the games i have for today thanks for the advice every1
i agree with guys here .. less game = more accurate result .
but me myself i cann't stop playing/challenging new people until my games were 10 in progress .
and for my very bad luck , i have registered for two tournaments some time earlier , suddenly i found my self playing 20+ games semultineously .
now i have your headage , i decided to take a short vacation after i finish these games , i had a similar case two months ago , and that cure worked perfectly.
today i got a headache of all the games im playing i was making terrible mistakes couldnt focus on any of the games and i just felt like resigning every single game i had, i took some time away from the computer thinking about some of the mistakes and distracted myself by watching some tv.
has any1 else ever experienced this?
(i stopped myself and am still playing the games)
The solution: An excellent top-shelf beer or two.
14 games with ANIKO
i almost took an open seek with this player but decided not after seeing that she was playing over 3,400 games at once. i'm unsure if that is even healthy, lol.... so obviously i agree with those above who speak of quality trumping quantity
haha the matches are paying off wins coming in slowly, sadly they are the only wins im getting lately
I'm playing like 30 games right now , ( mostly against a great friend
) , I just take it easy and take some time moving each piece , it works out , and since its 1 moves / 3 days , I could do it at anytime .I also use the analysis board once in a while and flip the board sometimes .It prevents mistakes . You can also try to listen to songs while you play , it relaxes your mind for a bit.
That's why I wish chess.com would let you have two separate accounts, on to play a few, serious games, and another to play lots of games and try new openings, etc.
I guess I should just play some unrated games for fun and experimentation purposes.
My rating immediately started improving when I set a limit on the number of games I play per day.
Its the law of diminishing returns at work, or perhaps Aesop's fable of The Goose that Laid the Golden Egg. A guy had a goose that laid one golden egg per day, so he thought why not cut it open and get all the eggs now.

Yup! I prefer not to have more than 15-20 games going. At one point I was up to 50+ and felt like I was slave to the (virtual) chess board. It took over all my free time, which is in short supply
