Going down in a blaze of glory?

lets all just give up at the first sign of disadvantage instead.
wouldnt want to make our opponent have to work for victory or anything difficult.
:-)

Being down a queen and a good minute on time is the first sign of disadvantage? You are very optimistic :)

because it's utterly annoying to not finish games...i hate looking at all these great chess matches and they never have a mate...

and yet i have been in winning positions and blown it , and other occasions i have looked into oblivion yet scraped a draw.
its not over till its over , one of the big pro's of chess if you ask me.

What time control is it? If it is a regular game (30 minutes or more) of course resign. If it is blitz, (10 minutes and under), dont resign. Opponents may blunder back as well. Its worth playing on

Down a Queen? I've won more battles than I care to count doing just that. Just because you have no Queen does not mean you have zero tactical possibilities. Perhaps you are completely developed and your opponent got your Queen but lost a Knight which just happened to be their only piece in play other than a couple pawns. Furthermore, I have been known to use the 3-move to my advantage by forcing my opponent to make a move that makes their position worse.
Just because you are down does not mean you are out, even in longer games.

Once got a knight for a queen, in a completely lost OTB Blitz, but it was for fun, so I just played on for a while, and since my opponent was up a queen, he didnt care about pawns. All of a sudden, he allowed a fork, so I could get the queen back for a knight, giving me a 2 pawn advantage. First and last time I played on when down a queen.

From my experience and up to around 1600s, I'd say around 8/10 players get overconfident when up a Queen. This overconfidence is more dangerous to them than if I was up a Queen myself.

Playing to the bitter end is common among kids, and pinheads.
But surely it's their perogative, so why are you whining about it?
And why has @Mojo and @Phylar (apparently) gone to the same guy for their tats?
Inquiring Minds Want to Know.
P.S. whenever @Flags and I agree about the value of a thread, it's clearly time for the OP to go back to the drawing board, and try again.

Today I lost my queen to a stronger opponent. I tried to trap him. I was two moves from forcing checkmate when i changed tatctics and started a hopeless defense. I lost. Later, I realised he would probably have captured my gambit that very move because he made himself ready to, and I could have checkmated him if I just hadn´t given up on the game.

hard to clean all the barf up in this thread.
don't spam or troll ilikeflags, please.
In my case many times they are just trying to win outiming you.
I have lost games in a mate in one position.
i don't think that behaviour is honorable but it is within the rules
I don't like they had made premoves cost you 0.1 secs

if this was the 500th of these threads i'd attempt agree with your ludicrous statement 'dela. as it stands, this thread must at least in the 1000 range. keep your barf to yourself.

I don't know what you are saying. Maybe the topic has been treated before, that's normal. If you don't like it, ignore it. And take care of the language you use with me.
I don't get guys who, down a queen and on time, persist and keep on checking your king. These guys eventually lose, but, really why the fight to the finish when you know you can't possibly win?
