I just hate the idea of forcing people to do things they might do not like, most people do not like V3 so why V3? why not to fix the V2 Disadvantages ???
Good bye chess.com

Anyone know the reasoning behind the change? I don't mean the supposed 98% of users are using V3. I mean why the change period?

Things that don't change, stand still and are left in the wake of others. Progress means change so just use it and become accustomed to it.
Eseles summed it up so well when he said, "
I wish you stay in v3 and help the developers make it better by showing them what problems it has - and possibly how they can fix them.
".

@President_Max will do sir!! Don't forget to remind me, though - memory's no longer what it used to be...
(joke)

Admittedly, I also didn't like v3 at all! However, I decided months ago that I'd force myself to use it because I knew the day would come when I had no choice and wanted to give myself time to get used to it. Honestly, I don't even give it a second thought now. Change is inevitable...we either go with it or get left behind.
I didn't know that you could change it to 'classic' until a poster mentioned it, I will check that out!
Thanks for being a friend Storm....Good luck and all the best!

V2 is better - but because it's better, not for any other reason. It's simply faster when you play blitz.
Apart from that (the speed in blitz) I believe that V3 is actually better.
But I like blitz so much, that the balance is still on the side of V2.
I'd look at your equipment, friend, because I have no lag issues at all. I found no difference between the two.
My last comment on the matter. Que sera will be!

V3 is not an inprovement on V2 but the opposite . Dont believe 98 % are using V3. Simply not true. Many people will leave when V2 is finally closed. Chess.com inflicting self harm on itself. ..

It's easier

"(8%' are using it doesn't mean, "Exclusively". I'm sure many switch to and fro for whatever their needs are. (Now. Where's the, "Unfollow" button?

They have kept v.2 open as long as possible, and can now make improvements to v.3, just let them know what improvements you would like & be constructive https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScLKBenaRZ_IMy_8Od6REzfZT-lAUcd1h12AnWG26bQ9sY60A/viewform

<Karnakatz> it can't be my equipment, because I also play on another site (most of the time actually) and its hyper fast - as it should be!

Good bye chess.com the site I know for more than 19 years...
Chess.com started in 2007 and never was Chesspark. I believe erik acquired the members of that site, sometime after I started here, but I would need to look for the specifics.

The site has some backend updates to make that can not be made while v2 is around. Well, they probably could but it would be the same since much of the code will break after.

They have kept it open for longer than I thought they would. My suggestion for making version 3 better is to implement all the features of version two, while eliminating all the features of version 3. I dont think they will do that though. I'll still use it, but not as much. I agree with many other people, at that point there are just too many other good options with other sites.
Who is this under my knife?
