Guess who abandoned the game? Costing me valuable league time?

[public accusations not allowed -- MD]. I blocked him.

It cost me because he abandoned after just four moves, so it doesn’t count toward the league totals.

I’m not sure why it’s considered an accusation if it’s completely legal to do.

I didn’t accuse the coward (who didn’t bother apologizing for it later) of cheating. He could’ve done the polite thing: resign. Don’t reward rudeness. I’m providing an opportunity for others not to play this jerk, not to have to go through this. I am providing a service. Anyway, back from the land of poor discernment, I’ve seen people on here complain about others playing multiple games at once. Well, this is exactly why it happens. I’ve never done it, but you can bet I will start if I keep encountering cowards who abandon the game, forcing me to sit there and wait for the clock to run down, when I could have won the game and started or even finished another— which again is key when playing in leagues. If I start playing multiple games, two or three at once, I could care less if people abandon… Go ahead and abandon, it’s better for me. But I’ll tell you one thing, the strategy of playing multiple games at once could spread like wild fire and it would create a massive rift between those who play on cell phones versus those who play on PCs. And it could all be avoided if there were a better mechanism in place to discourage people from abandoning games. Again, go ahead and resign, why abandon?

I don't see the value of League time? Why is it so "precious" to you?

Not really worth it anymore, playing leagues, since prizes are already taken. It gets insanely hard near elite/champions level.

Good point, GM chess player. I play quite a bit regardless, so it just adds some spice playing leagues. I enjoy the challenge. Boddy, It’s fun to play leagues.

I didn't notice it. After some time I just stopped it. No idea what it is about.

Basically, the more games you win the more points you get. And you don’t lose points for losing. In the end, whoever has the most points is number one in the league and you pass onto the next league if you are like the top five. You don’t get money – – although you did for a while – – but you also don’t get money for just playing chess, so it’s just a bit more fun way of playing chess, at least for me.

Playing rated simuls has been removed.

Also, calling out other members for things like that isn't allowed, so it was removed.
