You mean like hide him in your basement, or just dont say anything about him?
hard decision ?

Are you in this situation for real? :P
Anyways, i would do it no matter what, if the man was nice.

he's nice but controlling "( you dont get any breaks from training sessions) is it still a go.
If you have to move and go live with the guy for 3 years in an appartment or something... that sounds a bit off, make sure you know the guy better than just some stranger. Other than that, yeah, I'd take the deal at your age. In just a few years you're going to be out of school and off working and/or starting a family of your own. It may seem like it's far far away, but after it happens you're not going to be so free as to just go spend a few years studying something you enjoy. You'll have to wait till you retire or something :).
So think hard for yourself how much you enjoy chess and what chess means to you (or if this is all hypothetical, then the person would have to first decide what they really want). Because an opportunity like this isn't going to repeat itself. On the other hand of course, if it's not something you want, then it doesn't matter how rare it is.
A thorough background research on this GM is required. Don't decide on anything until you know all there is to know about him.
If he has done something wrong, and that's why he demands you to hide him for 3 years (3 whole years of hiding someone is pretty serious), very simply, don't.
Thanks everyone I decided what I would do. I wouldn't be living with him but he is moving to my state just because of this.
Haven't you already broken the conditions of your agreement? A "2604" gm moving to MI. Now anyone who cares enough can discover his secret identity!

this post is just a what if question.

But then you said he's moving to your state just because of this.
So a GM is relocating to Detroit so he can spend every weekend teaching a teen (not titled) chess without payment. Hmm...it's believable.
Hey padman you do know that just because you won't ever cross 2000 OTB and get any oppritunities to do so doesn't others won't lol. I rember a year ago you had a 2200 somethin on chess.com and now your 2100 so you loss rating after a whole year.
I didnt read any posts.. but I think in order to keep someones identity hidden you must not give people hints like RATING cough..
My coach was rated 2851.. 1. You prob know a GM rated 2851, and 2. you can look up GMs rated 2851.
So next time hide the 2604 :P
EDIT: O its a what if question :P
What if you a GM offered to give you lessons of lets say 10 hrs per week to live with you (and pay no rent).. would you?

Hello just wondering if a 2604 GM said he would coach you for free for 3 years as long as you kept his identy hidden from the public so he can have peace would you. Heres the catch you wouldn't have anymore weekends because your to busy taking lessons and hidding him ? Not to mention your only a teen (even if your not just imagine) so your almost giving up your childhood. WOULD YOU ??
