Heckling Opponents

Why do people in Spanish countries say "jajajajaja" surely laughing sounds the same in every language so it should be "hahahahaha" also?
I don't speak Spanish but I think the "j" is silent in Spanish. At least in this case.

I have had people do that and I can only think that is time they should probably be focusing on the game. So I am glad to see it.

Heckling shows the lowest form of human behavior in gaming. I will not play again with anyone who sinks to this level of inanity. It is an unforgivable breach of common respect, courtesy, and etiquette.

The j in Spanish is pronounced like the h in English so the names Jose are normally pronounced 'ho-say' and Jesus would be 'hey-zus'
I also believe that when the letter H is used at the beginning of a word in Spanish then it is silent. So to quote one of the best films of all time "Asta la vista... baby" would be spelt: 'Hasta .....'
Although I should not be trying to sound educated at all when it comes to foreign languages. I can ask for beer in 20 countries but apart from that I'm terrible.
As for Trash Talk. It's something that I never do. but I kind of think it's funny when I'm on the receiving end of it. It makes it all the more sweet if you win.

Silent??? Think! Jose, etc, it's like an English "h", So is the "j" in the Spanish word for chess: ajedres (ah'-head-rez). IT sometimes varies as other English letters.

No. It is called disrespect. Common amongst hecklers such as cherub. They call it funny. Most call it immature. Unfortunately, the anonymity of the internet and this childish behavior is prevelent. Is there not a setting to block all chat?

Yes, there is. When you're in Live Chess, go to:
Settings -> Alerts -> Game Chat -> Nobody
This will disable chat in all your live games.

That is helpful Blunder. Fast time controls and no point in chat being open. People like cherub would never dare show their face at a public chess club.
I remember days of postal chess.Friendly messages were written along with moves. Never once encountered any disrespect. How times have changed.

lol well my opponents generally have nothing but good things to say about me and my sportsmanship. You're the one who is the heckler right now, and for many days.

Right. Explains the threads mocking your opponents after winning a game. They're rated 1800 and you're bashing them. You had a 2170 rating, timed out 300 games and lost 1000 points because of fair play violations. Enter under 1200 tournaments after reinstated. Then create mocking, disrespectful threads of crushing low rated members.
Disrespectful, immature and a Black Eye to the chess community.
