They use plasic for the power adapter on thoes sell it as soon as you notice its loose, unless you are too nice..
The power adapter on my Toshiba laptop died. I got a new universal adapter through Amazon. But it killed my battery. My advice on the PCs is to stay away from Toshiba and HP.

An HP is good if you want something that runs hot enough to keep your coffee warm while playing and analyzing games.

Continued recommendations are good in case others come looking for suggestions. I'm going to pretend people actually do that and don't just start a thousand news threads of their own.

As a chess programmer, I can tell you that PCs are so fast these days that it hardly matters.
Any reasonable laptop, even a second-hand machine that's 3 years old, will run Stockfish well enough to make a grandmaster look foolish. Get a machine that you like, runs well generally (deescalator's advice about 8GB RAM is very sound!), and it should be absolutely fine for chess. Save a bit of money on the laptop to spend on books, coaching, tournament fees etc!
I am going with your advice , hope it will work , previously I was thinking to buy a i5 10thgen machine , but now after doing a little bit research I thought that i3 11th gen will do my job for sure.

I think the OP wasn't talking about a computer for playing on chess.com, any device will do for that. It was a machine where he can run something like Chessbase on, with several engines. For that, a gaming computer or laptop with a GPU would be suitable.
... maybe ... unless you know the demands of those engines ... my guess is that they are FAR less demanding than any computer on the market offers today. But that's just my guess.

Yeah. Buy a refurbished Macbook. That's your best bet. 200 dollars at most, unless you get it on sale.
