Hi guys! Newbie here!
Lol, came showing off here about beating a so called player Dutch Defence, wich was a player on redhotpawn as well, (pssht..whitch I also beat ).
Nah, the great part of this site, is the chess-comunity, the share of knowledge, the tactic-trainer, being able to get a chess-mentor ( several chess-masters on this site),
It's just...you'll figure it out soon. Once ur rating is good enough I'll play you as well:p
It would be a pain in th ass if I got my ass kicked by a seemingly new player ( nah, just kidding, lemme give u one advice, don't join the clan for sexy and cool people, it's a waste of your time, no active people there..they're too cool to be active)
Chess.com is a wonderful place for these reasons:
The community is wonderful! Expect all of your ideas, games for analysis, and comments to be talked about, respected, and (sometimes) laughed at, but it is always friendly and helpful
There is a wide variety of players of all syles, all strengths, and hundreds of nationalities.
As far as I know, it is legal to use a book to look up an opening, but it definately ILLEGAL to use any computer analysis or ask anyone on the forums for help on a game in progress. People will be glad to help you in analysis of a completed game, but not on a game in progress.
If you want, we could become friends and I could show you around a bit. It is a fun place, and you will get to understand it before long.
Hope I helped!
Good to be here guys looks like a nice site, just came over from Redhotpawn, Im rated about 1500-1700 there Ive only played one of your members (Dutch Defense) and beat him twice. Interested in this new site how do you guys compare? Talk me into it. What exactly is legal here? I use a DB quite often in openings and sometimes refer to books.
