ok.i have been playing chess for the past 4 month and my rating is still 600.i solve puzzles,waatch a lot of you tube videos,read about 6 books on chess.but i am still rated 600.my friend just started playing chess 2 month ago and his rating is 1200.so does that mean i am mentaly ill or something.

I think i've improved playing online chess, where u have hours to think your next move and can read books (it's not against the rules) rather than playing live.
