How can I improve?

Hello! I'm 38 years old, started to play a month ago, never played much as a child, so seems like started to like pretty late.

I do the tactics training pretty well, mostly in half the time as average. But my game stinks!!! I play some 10 games per week and mostly I loose hahaha. I won some but I do stupid moves that my 5 years old kid see. Eaten by bishops mostly. I agree don't have much time to practice or study, so basically I do the tactics (3 per day in free account) and play. I'm using spanish opening, english, (polish sometimes). I stink on english no doubt. Fairly in spanish, and better on polish.

I usally end with 2 pawns in same column what I guess is not very good.

Any tips to improve my game?

I'd like to try some new openings too (I'm kinda bored to use the same again and again) but don't see how to practice that.

Use the search forums box and type in improve or improving, you should find a dozen threads a day.

Give yourself a break, you only started playing a month ago. Make mistakes, laugh at your own stupidity but keep playing and immerse yourself in the game. Read articles, play through annotated games and most importantly, pin your ears back for little gems dropped by strong opponents. It's my opinion that it normally takes about three years to play a decent game.
