You can buy an endgame book, and many use a Chess engine to practice end games by setting up various positions and playing against the computer.

I just play for the fun of it.  Only just joined this site, I'm finding it very helpful so far.  I've no strategy whatsoever and sometimes I get lucky against the computer.  I would think practice, practice and memorise some positions that you know will work and build on that.  I've realised from this site that there is a beginning a middle and and an end.  I just love the game for the fun but needless to say I don't know how to win.  Very addictive - need to take a step back ever so often.

Here is an example of how bad my endgame is

I could have won that easily

Were you in timetrouble in that endgame? Otherwise I think you should focus on playing slowly and always look for tactics. I don't think you need to study endgames to avoid losing to mate in one and leave your pawns undefended.

I wasnt in time trouble i just kind of got too overconfident and i think i did very bad responding to his checks by the rook .I got to use two tactics in that game though
