How come GMs are too snooty to post in the forums?

What's up with that?
Too good to communicate with us patzers?

Too busy asking the Stockfish engine for the latest refutation of the Najdorf Sicilian?

Drop us a line, brah........

GM Hansen used to post here pretty frequently, but other than that, it's as you say, urk.

Maybe, because as GM Hansen found out, they get bombarded with requests for game analyses, free lessons, autographs, challenges.

Please keep your sexual fantasies to yourself, there are kids on this site. Besides, why scare Alexandra away before she even has a chance?

What does that mean?

I actually think GMs do post on here but under different aliases. Im 95% sure Trextastic is Susan Polgar

I keep losing to Urk in daily chess. He might be Susan Polgar, he's that good!

I never saw a FM or GM that would give much useful information away for free...they put so much time and effort into it that they want to get paid, it is like a full time job at that point. I had an IM locally where I used to live that kept offering to give me lessons, but for $50 a session...and I'm too cheap for that, after all chess is still just a game for some of us....something to fill in the empty hours other than drinking beer or watching movies.

How come movie stars are too snooty to associate with their fans? As Fuzzbug suggested, they would get mobbed, just like GMs.

It can be demoralizing though 2Q.  Alexandra Kosteniuk hasn't responded to any of my love letters. I poured all my poetic artistry in those letters.

I think there's a private group for titled players.  They probably post stuff there.  Ask phren

In my experience, most GMs aren't snooty. The snootiest chess players are bunnies who spend all the lives bashing up even smaller bunnies.

Cherub_Enjel

If you consider the proportion of GMs that have posted here to the proportion of GMs in the chess.com population, I think you'll find that it's actually to be expected.

I have seen the rare GM post, just like GMs are well in the top 99.9% of chess players on this site.

And mobbed with stupid questions like "I'm rated 1200, which single book should I read to make me a GM. I'm willing to work really hard, about 4 hours a week on that book."

And similar gibberish like whether they prefer bishops or knights. If people were discussing chess at a GM level, I'm sure GMs would post here all the time.

GMs are snobs and think they so great.  With computers being so much better than them, the bloom is definitely off the rose!  If I want good advice I listen to stockfish, and not their inane prattling

Rat1960

I would like GM's to post their own games here add some chat about the game and engage with others chatting about the game.
IM pfren does that every so often with a position from a game he has played in context with the specific thread chat.

IpswichMatt

GM Gormally used to post on here, don't know if he still does. The bloke is a legend.

Lots of titled players post in the forums on the chess publishing website
