How do you play the Queen's Gambit?

Hey guys, I learnt chess recently and just discovered the King's Gambit the other day. I would really appreciate it if someone told me how to play the Queen's Gambit and its advantages and disadvantages. Has it been played in any popular game?

Queen's Gambit is one of the best openings and has been played in many World Championship Matches. Example:

Compared to e.g. the King's Gambit, the Queen's Gambit offers 2 advantages: 2 c4 does not weaken the position of the king after O-O like 2 f4 and 2 c4 opens the diagonal d1-a4 for Qd1.
