You have to be able to checkmate when there is still time on the clock. Material doesn't really matter if you can't get the checkmate.

Time is part of the game.

Really thanks for your sense of humour 😂🙏🏾 I meant it seems when my move is not a standard/rational move I lose more time (negative deduction) so I wondered if there is explanation for that.

You are taking too much time to THINK.
FM_Checkmate

well, I can't explain that, but like kaynight said, tick...tock... this represents seconds. I can give you lessons if you need more explanation.

In a game of chess, you have a certain amount of time to make all your moves.

You managed to make 41 moves in your last game at 10+0 time, where you lost on time in a losing position.

The short answer is: move your pieces faster.

General-CussedEarth

unfortunately against Beb22, you had mate in 2 but your time ran out, so black had enough material to win if he was genius enough to get you to part with all your pieces, silly rules ? that's chess! If only you had played 19.BxQ and 20.Rdh1, you'd have had that mate in 2 many many moves earlier.
