Sometimes I take it too long, I just am not able to penetrate the computer's defenses.

Thank you. But I don't want to come across 'cocky' so I will say this. Sometimes I 'run out' of time and don't get the 'mate' my opponent. When that happens I get really frustrated and my opponent is relieved.

On your desk at work? Kitchen counter? On the livingroom floor or while lying in bed?

I usually do it lying on my bed, sometimes I also solve tactics when sitting upright on a chair.
It depends. Unexpected queen sacs can complicate things.
