How many 1500+ blitz players, if dropped to 900 ELO, would regain their rating?

So... I wonder what % of the 1500+ blitz players could quickly and steadily, (or even ever) track in a very linear fashion back up the ranks to regain their high rank, if they took such a fall, as in a reasonably contiguous winning streak, or, would a surprsing number of them get caught up in the churn of their presumed chess 'inferiors' and fail to advance to what their previously assigned/perceived level was?

I climed to 1300 rating, and then opened up one of my old accounts, and climed from 850 ->1300 rating in under a week playing 10/0.  I don't think blitz is any different.  Chess is a 0 luck game with no variance so generally these games MMR stability is very high.  If your MMR is different than your skill level, our MMR adjusts very quickly.  Try playing a 5v5 game like Dota... 1 hour games with 9 other people in the match you have no control over... trying to go +100 wins in this game takes a lifetime.

I bet u a 2500 MMR player could climb from 900->1800 blitz in an afternoon.

BTW: How many points can someone who's played a lot of games at let's say the 1100-1300 make by beating someone at let's say 1900?

I think the most I ever won on a game (since the initial major ELO swings of a noob here) was 10-13 points.

With any luck, I don't suck

@Avexra - Easy for you :-) That's awesome!  Respect. But if you're starting with a new account without history then it's easier because you are on the upswing side of the initial state of the algorithm and can move forward in leaps and bounds right? Do you think you'd have the same success scoring lets say max 10 points a game as an account with a long history does?

@bb_gum234 - Hmmmm.... Maybe I should deliberately lose games until I get to 100 ELO and see how long it takes me to get back up to 1200 (well, I'm not at/above 1200 now, but in the next week or so I probalby will be again)

What is the difference between linear and "very linear " ?

Something is either linear or it's not...you cannot have degrees of linear.

I presume you know what "contigious " means ?

I apoligise for my stalking...but you are funny, with your pseudo-intellectual diatribe about your blitz "prowess"

VibrantMoves

All of them.

Backatcha - did you mean "contiguous", and "apologize"? I'm just having fun and this is how I speak. I know I'm not a genius because I've worked with geniuses, and I never said or thought I'm a strong chess player, so I don't know what you're so offended by and resentful of. I'm just having some fun here trying to psyche myself up for an unrelated project that has me down. It's called procrastinating. You should try it sometime, if you ever get around to it.

@NimzoMochilero - Thanks. That's the spirit. Appreciate the good advice. Will take it to heart, and do some of that.

I want to, but I keep putting it off...

...and no , I am not offended and resentful...what's to be offended or resentful about ?

...and touche with regards the spelling of apologize and contiguous

@eciruam - It's all good. You're alright. Cheers. Got to *try* to do my day job or I won't be able to afford my premium membership. Later.

Ciao

All of them except the ones whose rating was a fluke and the ones who stopped playing rated chess games.

I'd obviously gain a lot of blitz points up until 1,200 as nobody under that level can launch a serious challenge to me. After that then it's up to me, I believe I would.

Why is your question aimed at Blitz players alone and nobody else? You should be playing chess in all areas of the game: Blitz, Bullet, Standard, Online and 960 namely. This improves your overall play. If you don't come out of that comfort zone it becomes a weakness.
