How many of you have beat Little Chessmaster?
I refer to to an older post 'Refusing to Resign' by AlabasterCrashes. In it Erik admitted to the true nature and identity of LitlleChessPartner. See below
FINE. Here is the true story of "LittleChessPartner"....
In 1980, the very day that Mount St. Helens erupted in northwestern United States my mother gave birth to a red-headed baby boy. As that child grew up it became apparent that he was a savant - good at one thing, and one thing ONLY - CHESS! My parents tried to mainstream him, but secretly I undermined all of their intentions, taking away every book except chess books, throwing away all of his toys except chess pieces. When he turned 18 I told my parents I would take care of him, and I have ever since - I've kept him locked inside of a bedroom in my house forcing him to play chess for 20 hours a day. He gets 3 hours of sleep and 1 hour of Disney movies per day and I only feed him pizza topped with huge doses of ginkgo balboa to promote his mental energy. He has essentially no human interaction, has been conditioned to NEVER RESIGN, and is incapable of having a coherent discussion. And that, my friends, is the kind of price I am willing to pay (and make others pay) to have Chess.com become the best site on the internet!!!!!!
Whenever I beat LCP I put it down to bad anchovies on the pizza...
I just recently beat LCP on medium, but I can beat it on easy pretty consistently. The key I think is to be patient... Development and openings are very key. If you can get the computer to make a poor decision and put a piece out of play, its a great way to get an advantage. For instance, the computer will almost never take a knight for a bishop, so if they try to pin your knight against your king or queen, just push it back out with your pawns and you will inevitably either put a piece out of play, or work your way to a pawn advantage.
Don't be tricky until the midgame or endgame, LCP finds the weakness in your opening every time.
After learning how to play chess about 8 months ago, I finally beat the computer 3 different times on the easy setting, and once on the medium setting. I was so proud of myself because to me, the computer was sooo hard to play, I think I was intimidated by it or something.
Well aren't you super cool.
I played it for the first time today and after accidentally releasing a piece as I was dragging, I started over and beat him on easy. I was intimidated, but I traded him down until I had a slight material and positional advantage, and passed a pawn to take over the rest of the game.
Quite fun, but man was I ever sloppy.

I've been trying now for awhile to beat it on easy. Tonight I got pretty close. I guess I'll just keep practicing.
