My friend was 1400 uscf rated and diligently study and his rating started to go up rapid; Ron gain four hundred points in rating. Ron was playing in two chess club and beat three experts. This is one of the expert Ron beat and one my favorites. I told if he keeps playing like this he will be an expert this year. Believe me it is hard to beat an expert and even harded to become one.

Ron played excellent to beat a very strong expert. Ron is above 1800 uscf.

I read a few posting concerning how to beat an expert, many of their advice kingside attack or be aggressive; they might work but experts can defend well. I experience many lower rated players hoping their attack will go through but it is base on a bad foundation and cannot succeed. The approach to beating an expert is solid play and sound opening and unfortunating studying chess to improve your skills. I love Ron's game because it is solid from the opening to the endgame; never giving the opportunity for Expert John to escape with a draw. I also love this game because it is the two knights verse the two bishops ending, Nimzovitch and Tchigorin would of love this game because of the two knights winning in the endgame.

This past weekend, a 1300 scholastic player ( < Age 12) beat a 2200 Master in a OTB Swiss.  Paired up in the 1st round.  Turn out was so small that they combined the U1700 with the Open Section.
