How to become a 2400 player?

Hello everybody, I am a 1600-1700 player and I feel a weak player when I see those guys at 2400-2600 playing 3 mins blitz like computers.
I try to improve my game and become stronger even when I play with my friends. I just cant understand whats the most important skill that distinguishes those 2600 players from me?
I have read some books about strategy and tactics but I am going no where, I feel Im missing something more powerful than tactics or strategy. Does anybody understand what am I missing?
