Here i shall unfold my wisdom, please children remember this.

Insults are more a reflection of the person that issues them than the target they seek to vilify!

Its all a room full of mirrors! Please remember this wisdom and it will keep you free from all kinds of issues.

I had an IM tell me something regarding people that insult others.  Throw mud on me, because i can wash it off, and start clean.  While youre still at the mud hole looking for your next target.

I will tell you what I do to angery insulting players I copy everything they say than I upload the game to my games collection with their insults on the game so the chess world can see what they have done. Thats one way to deal with them for sure.

If you wish to insult me I have the right to save your insults and upload them to my game that will sure make them think twice

Sounds like a waste of time if you ask me. It is like giving a douchebag a award to encourage more douchbaggery.

Nah, not really, pos's will be pos's. Seen it alot.

It's a conundrum. Do you think people loses in general and uses an engine when playing against you?

Gets 'em even more pissed off that they lost...

Like it. But this reply is a bit strange on accusation of using chess engine.

Seems it is more to make yourself feel better Player, overall it doesnt work with idiots. Just my opinion.

So you lol at him in a losing postion and he responds with a insult. Seems fitting. You failed to have any manners and insulted him and he responded with calling you a idiot, seems fitting. Any other games you want to post up for us?

I think the game you posted was more of a reflection of yourself than your opponent, tbh.

Not at all, though there has been a game or two in corospondence that I was highly suspicious of. But it is what it is, folks who use engines or cheat only hurt themselves and thier own games, if they have a game to begin with. Time is to short to waste it with BS.

It was a draw and I was happy I can laugh. nothing insulting gettin a draw from an under promotion

Guy on the other end of the net could easily take that as a insult, hence why he called you stupid. One great trick of crap talkers is to lol during the entire game. Which in the end...you did.

loling is in poor taste, about as classy and telling someone "great move ! " when they make a obvious blunder. So you keep posting up your games, about your supposed insults to your character, when in reality what you posted reflects only on yourself, at least in that game.

December_TwentyNine

OP. Really? They are not insults, but kind words. This is the internet, it's common people get accused of cheating.

I keep mentioning in my posts over and over again that I've been called a Jackass because I sac'ed my Queen with no comp when I was losing the game, anyway. So maybe my opponent thought that was my name, Jack Ass. He was a very nice chess player and he only wanted to greet me.

It's all about how you take things.

I can only hope that OP here is not like, who's that guy on the other thread? PlayChessNotWar?

Well if being happy is a reflection of myself than I am guilty

No it jsut shows how highly you think of yourself and hold people to a higher standard than you do yourself. Now in this other game you posted, that is sort of the norm for people who take chess to seriously.

I have been called everything under the rainbow during bullet games..Who cares? Grow a set ! LOL, and if you are going to talk trash, then dont be surprised if someone talks trash back. It is easy peasy.

Now if you are going to take chess ultra serious, this is the only way to do it.

I insist on rematches even when I have never played the person in the first place.

Who has time for chat in a bullet game?!  Might as well play a 15 minute game then they can waffle on with their nonsense for upto 30 minutes if their opponent wasn't sensible enough to disable chat!

They are out there, I have ran into people who could carry on a complete conversation while playing at the speed of light in bullet. Not sure how they do it other than either a comp or two people or they are a parapalegic and have a kick ass system they can toy with.

Dr_Cris_Angel

I've been insulted a fair number of times because I have a low rating and play poorly.  it is what it is.  The best way I have found to deal with insults is to "kill them with kindness".  I ignore the insults then thank them kindly after the game is through.   I had someone call me an old lady and then he told me (in a 30/30 game) to

That's not insulting, of course, but it is being a bit obnoxious.  I resigned the game then wrote, "thank you very much for the game".  Next thing I know, I'm getting a friend request from this player.

Kindness goes a long way.

The other thing I do is play mostly with people I know or people in a group I'm in.  I'm RARELY insulted there.  In fact, most of the players are polite and helpful and even encourge me NOT to resign when I'm losing!   There are plenty of lovely people here.  Too bad the nasty ones seem to take our attention.

Sigh a little more than one hundred years ago and it would be pistols at dawn or French foils for insulting a lady! Killing them with kindness is an awesome approach. I wish i had that kind of self control.  I find it much more satisfying to beat them up on the chess board and then mock them.  Of course it only works if you win.  If it doesn't though, its a lesson in humility, which is also welcome :D
