Yes. Out maneuver him.
Many people have entirely the wrong idea about "attacking". Attacking does NOT give you the advantage. You gain the advantage by out-maneuvering your opponent. Then, AFTER you have the advantage already, you cash it in by attacking.
Attack is not a goal to strive for. It is a process. It is a method for converting one form of advantage (eg: better development, active pieces) into a different and more easily exploited form of advantage (eg: mate or win of material).
