Hi ! According to the support page , i should be able to use conditonal moves, but i can't find the open a new screen button... Am i missing something obvious ?

During the game, you go to the settings and enable premoves. I hope that's what you mean. You'll have to explain what conditional moves are to me so I can help you in a better way.

It only works on the full website, not my phone or kindle fire tablet apps. In the website there is a symbol , like an if/then chart. Click on that and you can enter your opponents prospective moves and your replys. I hope this helps. Ray

You can't do conditional moves in live chess, you can only do them in daily chess. What you can do in live chess is using premoves, where you do a move no matter what your opponent do as long as its legal. To do this you need to first enable it in your settings under "live chess" and then it is just moving your piece during the game

Oh okay, thanks Malaceth for the info :) It would be fun though, doing it live chess ^^

In my response (#5), I was referring to "daily chess".

You mean premoves for live chess, just go into settings in live chess and enable premoves, simple

I agree it would be helpful in live chess.  With a time control of 15/10 or larger (especially stuff like 45/45) you often have a "if he does A I want to do X, if he does B I want to do Y..." and it would be nice to just be able to lock those in as you are eliminating those variations from your thinking.

You can only make conditional moves on your opponent's turn and the feature is not available on the apps.

I have a 1 day daily game and it is my opponents move.

I cannot enable conditional / pre moves

I can find the setting, but when I toggle it and click save, it closes settings, then it does not really save that new setting

For daily games, you can only do conditional moves on the website not on the app

I often use this feature in daily chess games to analyze a current position after a move. Is this not a form of "cheating" compared to OTB chess? I mean it is allowed to be used but this feature offers substantial help with calculating the next moves.

You still have to calculate the moves - you can use self analysis in your daily games, you just can't use engine assisted analysis

Would make for a nice upgrade in the apps for Daily games. Should also include upgrading the Custom game feature - making seek options available.

Rather the pain having to switch to one’s browser.
