My club is playing a online tournament, to keep us interesting in chess during lockdown. I am matched up against one of the best players in the club, and haven't seen many of his games. I don't know much about him except his name. How do I find his games and prepare against it?

If you mean from here, you would need to know the username and you can view it by going to your archive and change the dropdown from My Games to Other's Games

I’m talking in general, if I went to a tournament, and all I knew was his name, how would I find some of his games?

Clicking twice on his profile picture will bring you to his home page. From there you may be able to see current and recent games, as well as his stats. Unless they hace been blocked in his settings. Good luck. happy.png

Holy crap people, he means real-life OTB games. Does he need to spell it out?

Do you know if he has played in any large tournaments? If so at least some of his games should be in chessbase database.

Unless the player made into a game database, or had their real name on a chess site, you generally won't.

Thank you guys! After some snooping around the internet, I found chess-dB.com which has games of anyone who has played in FIDE and USCF(I know FIDE I’m not sure about USCF) for prep.

I thought you meant opponents here on chess.com
