How to go from 2000 to 2500 in a month?

In my opinion, once one knows everything there is to understand about chess at a expert- candidate master level, theres very little differenec between grandmaster level play and ones own play. The differenec lies in overeach in calculation. Pattern recognition peaks more or less at 2000, its a matter of how many patterns you can see ahead from that point on that takes you to GM level.

How do you make the leap?

MaharnavDEKAstar

its near impossible though achievable

ChessMove2017

so tell me how?

it's OK if u find my opinion wrong but I know a player of 13 years who got 2500+ in a month from nearly 2080 or something playing lots of tmts

And the true measure of time is  your dids bro

No !their is a huge gap between CM level and Gm level. This gap is not totally depends on the ability to calculate variations. The theoratical knowledge of 2500 player is much higher than 2000 level player. The theory knowladge is irrelavant until 2000.Basic theory knowladge is sufficient to reach CM level.

A GM can sandbag to 2000 & get it back to 2500 in a month.  There, solved.

If you want to gain rating points, you should win rated games, duh

Play and win as much you can in a month's period

I self studied chess in past 6 months reach level of 1650 in rapid or classical chess.I didn't went for a local tournament yet.I think I can reach level of 2200 very easily before this December. But it will take many years to reach 2500.I think it is impossible to reach 2500 level from CM level in one month.

Lol this guy... not much difference between an expert and a GM? Yeah, right. I've been crushed OTB by an IM, and a weak IM at that, rated ~2390 FIDE. Pattern recognition doesn't peak at expert. It's an area masters continuously work on. Positional understanding is probably the most distinct difference between masters and experts/CMs, especially GMs. Combine that with arduous opening prep, vastly superior judgemental/analytical skill and constant (if they're pretty active) high-level play that they continue to learn more from, little by little... There's a huge difference.

And as for calculation, you're dead wrong. I can calculate just as well as all but the best masters. It's knowing WHAT to calculate. That's where their positional understanding comes in - correctly identifying candidate moves.

No you can't, Chess.com rating cannot truly define ur strength. if u didn't even play a local tmt than how can u get 2200 in like 6-7 months

tooWEAKtooSL0W

i went from 2000 bullet to 2500 bullet in 3 days, so GM in a month should be possible. Go for it

In slow, over-the-board chess? The gap between 2000 and 2500 is massive.

Expecting to bridge that gap in a month is a fantasy. A few years would be more realistic rate—and even then, it would take a lot of dedication and studying/coaching.

Comparatively speaking, a 2000-rated player's understanding of chess is full of holes and incorrect ways of thinking, when compared to a GM's grasp of the game. It goes far beyond mere pattern recognition.

By winning,of course!
