Hi chess community 😀 I'm just started playing chess and found that chess is indeed, an interesting game to play with friends and family. As in Japan, chess is not a very popular games among teenagers, I found it quite hard to find friends with similar hobby I'd love to make friends with players around the world and hoping that I can improve my gameplay よろしくお願いします ❤️

It's very easy to improve at chess once you learn the basics and try to master them.

Hii!! To answer your question, I have some ways I think helps to improve chess

1) Study openings. Openings are the most important move of the game in my opinion. They can change the course of the whole game. You can study different openings and moves to make after them, etc. My personal favorites are Gambits

2) Try to play chess in real life. I don't know why, but there is just something about playing chess in real life that is so helpful to me. I don't know If I remember strategies more or what but it helps me. I know it may be difficult, especially if friends don't share your interest of chess, but it's worth a try!

3) think as the other person. I like to flip the board around and picture myself as my opponent. What mive would I make to win? After I think of what move they will make, I make a better move. I know it may be difficult due to the timer, but it helps if you can do it.

4) think 5 moves ahead. Always have a backup move and know what your next 3 moves will be.

Be careful about getting better. Nobody will want to play you because you will beat them.

Good luck. I achieved my goal in chess improvement. I find that on line you end up playing people at your level matter how good you get.

My advice is to do tactics puzzles. Chesstempo is free and has great tactics puzzles.

She plays 3 minute games...no time to think, let alone 5 moves ahead.

Ohhh. Sorry

Deadmanparty

I suppose one other suggestion is playing longer games...is 15 minutes long enough?

A_VeryRisky_Gamble

I often play 10 minutes

Deadmanparty

I play 5 minute games but only because some people stop playing. I sat there 14 minutes one time waiting for the timer to run out.

#9 same!! That's so annoying. Or when they won't stop asking for a draw
