Hello, I am new to chess. In fact, I have no idea how the pieces move. Can someone please show me? I have zero knowledge about chess.
You move one step by two steps.
I'll tell you when.

It's kinda hard to take the question seriously, but if it was there is Wikipedia and Youtube, for a start. You know, to learn the rules and how the pieces move. As well as probably a crapload of material around here.
There is also an excellent cheap book titled "The Mammoth Book of Chess" which gets you from total rookie to good level if you really dig in. The author is Graham Burgess.
An old-fashioned way, but it's still working, is to learn the game from a friend who plays it.
You do not really expect anybody to write you a personal manual on how to play chess, do you?
