Of course I was punished, even phisically, when I was a kid at school, as it was usual in my time. Maybe is because of that I'd smash the head of any chess teacher who would do the same to my children.

No you wouldn't.

I think he would because I know, for myself, if any teacher hurt my daughter, they would get a beating. And not a sissy beating like that Mayweather supposedly gave Pacquiao.

If my student's keep making the same mistakes over and over again, some form of punishment would be warranted.

My question is, what type of punishment is the best?

Not the right way to look at it. How about you realize that they are your are boss and your work for them for money. Show some respect. Always remember who the client is.

Constructive criticism. If you punished my kid or me I would fire you immediately.

The OP's not here to play chess.

Put the kid in the ring with Maywether and let him run the kid to death. Laughing

Oh. I haven't looked at his posting history. I'm guess now it is quite trollish.

I'm glad he wasn't serious. My best friend from high school became extremely wealthy and just brought suit against the school disctrict for bullying against his son who is in high school I guess. He won. A lot of money and more. It wasn't about the money for him. Bullying is wrong. Constructive criticim is good (unless you give it to a girlfriend or wife).

Pac-Man could do the job too.

Silman uses a cattle prod for difficult cases.

Wow. Every time they make a mistake, just chastise them. That's how I would treat my clients. If that doesn't work, use a weapon.

Silman fines them (an Idea developed by IM John Grefe)

My parents used to make me sit next to a leghorn and smoke cigarettes as punishment all the time. Kids these days have it way too easy.

How true. Let them kids know that they are only pawns in an adult game, which they are way too young to understand. Whip'em hard.

Yes I agree. I want my student to develop thick skin.
