Analyze master games to understand how grandmasters apply strategic principles in real games.
Learn a decent opening that you can stick with (something more mainline i.e. Queen's Gambit, Caro Kahn, English Opening, etc.) and get comfortable with it. Other than that, practice tactics with puzzles and analyze your games. This is going to vary a lot depending on the player so the best way to find weaknesses is to analyze many of your own games and find the weak point. Likely, you are not as well-rounded as you may think, with some skills being above and below your current rating. Work to improve the weak points. And of course, just play the game, the more you play, the better.
