What does 2000 blitz translate to USCF rating? How do the ratings compare in general?

 Nice!

Masters who played in bullet showed a real fight in the board. Quickness in seconds, and this is purely another world of chess playing time and position rapidly.

I'm hoping in the near future for a prizes in live chess and donate something in chess for improvement.

This is a game.

You are not anywhere near 2000 blitz, and stop lecturing. You sound almost as ridiculous as your picture.

Also, masters on this site are rated around 2550+ in bullet and 2400+ in blitz from what I've seen.

Gary Kasparov's playing strength drops by 100 elo from slow play to blitz. That's what I've read. Has Kasparov ever played bullet? Do any of the elite play bullet?

I don't have any database games listed as bullet games and I have 5 million plus games. It's either Standard, Blitz, Simul or E-mail.

They play offhand bullet games -- especially on ICC you can find a bunch of them, most notably Naka, but it's very unlikely a game like this (due to it's extra fast nature) would be included in any database.

Many elite players like's bullet, I think they relax that way, it's not so serious.

I don't play much bullet, blitz is ok.

-But I had this thought, would this strategy work in bullet:

-Only think about 2 things speed and kingsafety, only try to win the game on time and don't get mated.

With little lag and premoves on it would be almost impossible for this to work as 60 seconds to an experienced player is still plenty of time for 100 moves Smile

Sure you can throw out the hippo as your opening in a handful of seconds, but as soon as the opponent predicts it, he can open just as quickly and you may gain only 2-3 seconds and have to defend a massive attack.  Best in bullet is usually not so much defense but to gain initiative, it takes much more thought to find a proper defense than it does to create and renew threats in general.

A friend of mine got a 2000+ rating fast in bullet, he is a fastmover with no real strategy. He tryed to play some games with 2-0 and his rating dropped 200 points imidietly Laughing

I guess it's best to play opening's you know.

orangehonda

Heh, yeah, some 1/0 specialists will drop 100 points just making it 1/1 and another hundred in 1/2 and another two hundred in something as "slow" as 5/3.

Just look at that bosox1275 guy's stats :)

Wow! He must be quick then! He surly can't be playing good!

orangehonda

Yeah, I'm not looking down on him or anything, it's just any way you slice it there's a huge difference in 500 or 600 points Smile

Hmm, these are the things I miss because I barely watch television these days... Oh well...

Maybe in a blitz game someone here could get lucky and win or draw one off of Nigel Short -- but please, it would be a fluke, no one here would seriously challenge him.  Ok we have a few GMs here that write articles or something but that's not who I'm talking about.

You know the funny thing about professional players?  THEY'RE PROFESSIONAL PLAYERS.  ffs get your head on straight.

I think Kacparov beat him in a 3|0 game once. Then again, Kacparov is a master!
