I am having a tournament this friday

okay so i am really, really, REALLY sweating now. I am a beginner in chess. I got picked for girls chess tournament. I am more good at white for openings and i am more goid at black for middlegames. Can anyone help me get some tips when playing in chest or strats or any good openings?

Before you move, look to see if that move is safe. You should also look if there are pieces you can capture. Take your time. Try to understand why your opponent made their last move. Is it threatening anything? Good luck!

Just don’t overthink your moves and know you can win and that you are there to play and learn.

Memorize lines as black to defend against d4 e4 and nf3. Thats pretty simple and remember tactics. If low on time trade queens unless you have hood material

It will be more fun than you expect. Everyone is there to play a game. Don’t worry about losing. I do that every game too 😂

Memorizing moves is useless at her level. Just check to make sure your intended move doesn't give up a piece, and that your opponent's last move didn't give up a piece.

Have fun.  Just try to get in the habit of looking at all checks, captures, and threat at each move. It's ok to lose, everybody does. Just work hard and be disciplined. Maybe post ur games on here later to try to get help improving.
