I am leaving chess.com... to Lichess

I play Lichess to look at the game reviews for free and do puzzles for free so if you wanna learn chess faster I could say both if you have a chess.com membership. But if you don’t Lichess would be free to go

I’m leaving too. Lichess and Hans Niemann’s platform ENDGAME.AI are better. Also Chesscom protects cheaters.

BS

delcai007

They close an average of 3,500... that's three thousand, five hundred accounts per day for cheating.

EnixityEditz

personally i prefer chess.com

delcai007

And one of the biggest complaints about Lichess has to do with its cheat detection program, thought to be very weak, especially compared to chess.com's.

Hans Niemann's new site?

LOL.

ryry

The TOS on Hans' site deserves a read... 😲

delcai007

As if Hans isn't a documented cheat and liar, right.

Reddit Question: Will Niemann's new chess platform succeed?

Hypertension123456 (1mo ago):

If by "future of chess" you mean "baffle the community with how gullible people are", then yes, it will be a huge success.

Eww LiChess

Lichess has a wait time and you won’t need to play instantly.

MrChatty

Remember, there is the OP who is leaving

Drama...

It's not the point, but I started with Lichess and was able to play as soon as I responded to the confirmation email... zero wait time. I did have to wait before I could post comments, I dont remember how long. Again, I don't think Lichess is terrible. It gets more criticism than it deserves, for the most part, in my opinion. I just much prefer chess.com. À chacun le sien.

No like, you can wait before playing a move, a lifesaver in bullet, hyperbullet, and blitz.

delcai007

You can wait in a time control game? How does that make sense?

MrChatty

I think it is about the time each opponent has before their first move

delcai007

ah... LOL

Lichess has classical. Apparently, chess.com might implement classical eventually. I am anticipating its arrival!

Oh, right. I forgot that one, and I completely agree. You can customize your time control here but, sure, try finding a match when you do.

from a Google search (I think number one is probably unfair... almost always, complaints about servers are just misunderstandings of how much or how little software can compensate for a user's poor internet).

"Based on online forum discussions and reviews, here's a summary of common complaints about Lichess:

1 - Apparent connection issues or lag: Many users experience delays in moves, stopped clocks, and game losses due to what appears to be connection issues, even with stable internet.

2 - Cheating and lack of effective reporting/banning system: Many users express frustration about encountering cheaters and with the perceived inaction of Lichess after reporting them, compared to other sites. This lack of responsiveness regarding cheating reports can be disheartening for users who invest time and effort in fair play.

3 - Toxic community and poor sportsmanship: Many users describe the Lichess community as "garbage" and toxic, citing instances of wasting time, insulting messages, and poor sportsmanship. While some suggest these negative interactions are a minority, others feel that the overall tone of the community is becoming increasingly negative.

4 - App usability and mobile experience: Some users find the Lichess app to be less user-friendly and aesthetically appealing compared to other platforms, particularly on mobile devices. Specific complaints include a clunky board editor and a lack of features available on the website, according to MiniReview.

5 - Rating system and accuracy: Many users find Lichess's implementation of the Glicko-2 rating system to be inaccurate. Even after thousands of games the rating system still shows instability and high uncertainty.

6 - Lack of premium features or paid content: Some users miss the structured learning resources and premium content available on other platforms, such as Chess.com, which they believe offer higher quality and better organization for educational purposes.

7 - Aesthetics and design: While many appreciate Lichess's clean and minimalist design, others find its aesthetics to be less appealing compared to the more polished and customizable interfaces offered by competing platforms."

Chess.com is probably a better chess website than Lichess.
