I am the worst 2000 rated player of all time

Hey Farm_Hand (aka Preg*********), do you want to play unrated with me? I know that you will look at my rating and go, NO!, but I need the practise, and on seconds thoughts, let’s make it rated. That way, you can lose tons of points if I win, and since your account is pretty new, you’d probably gain a few points even if you beat me. Wait...do you want to lose rating points? Anyway, rated or not, I really need the coaching,

Sure, I'll play anyone who wants to play.

Rated or unrated, that's fine.

Wrong on the second point too. I didn’t attack Allusernamestaken all I did was defend myself against his vicious out of the blue attacks for no reason. I hadn’t even said anything to him. All I did was point out the many games that have been posted on various threads by other users where they noticed that he used an engine. Others pointed out that he used an engine, I just made everyone aware of that

You can try to twist it all you want. Chess.com has banned people for doing exactly what you have been doing in both cases.

They can do what they must. If allusernamestaken  is going to to attack me out of the blue, lie and insult me for no reason then I will continue to defend myself and expose his lies.

He went back into hiding though now that I exposed all of his lies, so we should be done with all that

I think a lot of us 2000 players just play quick chess and don't hang too much stuff (except for the time scramble). We're nothing special, just people who've mastered online chess to the extent where we can play quick, passable moves.

Good post Nationalpatzer that was pretty much my point

Naa, that's oversimplifying it.

Any rating could say the same thing (and probably has).

In fact I've heard GMs say pretty much the same thing e.g. "IMs just play normal moves that don't lose immediately, that's why they're not as good as me, a GM, who knows a little bit about strategy"

There was some GM lecture in Australia on youtube.

The guy was saying to be 2500 is easy, you just need tactics.

But to be a 2600 GM like him, you have to learn strategy.

These people are good at chess, but have no clue about how chess skill works, just their flawed personal perception of it.

And I know I've brought this up before, but it's just so funny to me grin.png

When So was new to the top 10, and playing in one of his first super tournaments they asked Carlsen about his impression of Wesley.

Carlsen said you could get to that level (2700) with just tactics and openings, and that's all So is good at right now.

...u sound more like a store than a chess player.

It was just one of these post game interview things. Off the top of my head I'd say 4-5 years ago.

I'll look for it briefly that way, but I might not be able to find it.

2000 is a magical number,i just started playing here in chess com,i think i will reach 2000 in a couple days,i would say we might get paired in a match but right now i only play 10 0 time control,i would like to see what you got tho,you cant be that bad with 2000 rating, you must be doing something right in your chess games

Avatar of dogybrown
Its easy to mate with 2bishops ,I’m sure if it comes up in a game you will figure it out ,mate with Bishop and knight is tricky tho ,you have to know the pattern of moves, even someone in gm skill,if he doesn’t know the pattern of moves, would have a hard time figuring it out

You say your the "worst 2000 player of all time"

Well your still better then all the sad individuals out there who have gotten a 2000 rating by using an engine or cheating.

I dunno, I think I have a few arguments in my favor.

1. I also know only one opening, but its a shitty opening, the Alekhine. And actually I only know how to punish the common mistakes of patzers. Against decent players who know what they are doing, I get annihilated in my own pet opening.

2. I too have no clue how to play against d4, but I don't even play consistently enough to have comfort with my crappy opening. I've quickly switched between the Cambridge Springs, the Benoni and the Queens Indian, all without ever learning proper move orders, and certainly without any idea of general plans or goals of the opening.

3. I'm not only unaware of endgame techniques, I am a master at turning completely drawn, lifeless endgames into losses.

4. But worst of all, I am so fearful and irrationally protective of my rating that I can barely get myself to play any games, and I am currently at my peak of all ratings, because I'm worried that if I play, I will drop!

All these guys are too scared to play each other for the title of worst.

I guess they're afraid they'll over preform?

Avatar of Farm_Hand

Your excuse after the match could be

"I got a really good night's sleep, and ate a healthy breakfast, and I just had a lot of energy today... I mean, it really couldn't have been worse for me. My opponent kept blundering, plus I think they might have been sick."

When I reached to 2000 I thought this is my top but when I am playing against 2000 players I still have a good percentage of win. I should not win but I am winning. I think it is temporary luck.

I'm not currently 2000 rated but from playing people online with such a rating they generally just play normal moves that don't lose immediately as the other commenter said. I think 2200-2300 is the level where people really know what they are doing (online ratings at least - I'm sure 2000 OTB is a lot better than 2000 online)

2000 OTB is not really strong, either. 2350 is already a decent, strong player.

Yeah, looking at games in databases from 2000 rated players makes me cringe until I realise that their level of play is still higher than mine happy.png Still, I hope to reach 2200 one day myself though I still have some way to go
