Hmm, probably true.
Can't think of a situation where being wise would hurt unless the opponent has a large weapon
It's not so much that wisdom will never hurt you, it's that sometimes stupidity is effective... in fact humans have evolved to have biased built in... but even in chess sometimes it's good to push for a win even when a win doesn't exist (practical play because your opponent is human and will make mistakes).
Anyway, I'm tired and could ramble on about this for too long.

To be fair, you are much lower rated. If you played someone with the same rating as you, you would probably crush them (caro kann is horrible)
