Just watch a video on it. While you're at it, watch one that tells you how to win with just a rook and king too. You kids grew up with the internet but still need to be spoon-fed at every step!
Always ask yourself before you move:
"Does my opponent have a legal move after this move?" And, do the chess.com drill about it.
"Does my opponent have a legal move after this move?" And, do the chess.com drill about it.

Actually, no I didn't. I learned to play chess in 1971 when I was nine years old. There was no internet back then.
Again, I drew a draw using a King and Queen against an opponent trying to elicit a draw and not a win. Please look at my LAST GAME and tell me HOW I should have handled this. I don't know how to get a win with a KING and QUEEN.
