I do not work for money

I only charge $2 per side( left, right, front, back)

It’s good that you don’t charge old people. I commend you and that is awesome. But the point remains. Landscaping businesses don’t do free lawns for old people. Because they are a business. Chess.com is a business...that has a lot of overhead. Overhead is the cost of doing business. Paying employees...buying equipment...advertising...all kinds of bills. They have to make money or they cannot operate. Not only do they have to make enough money to operate, but they want to make a profit...that’s why they created the business. There’s nothing wrong with making money. There is however something wrong with feeling entitled to get things for free. Asking for handouts. Not cool. Not honorable. Not okay. You seem like a smart kid I’m sure you understand. And at the end of the day...sometimes life just isn’t fair. Is what it is

I’m sure your comment is going to be edited. Reporting you now.

Bruh reporting someone for saying another website name? Probably a bit overboard.

Today's chess.com is a shambles, I must admit.

Yeah let's instead enlist GM's into the Army and force them to provide education videos for free.

so?

One thing is, the OP is a Platinum Member but Blogs, Youtube, etc. Are all free, Chess.com wouldn't make money if you could just watch these videos for free. If you want something for Free you can watch Youtube or Read Blogs. It's not "Unfair."

I do not think it is fair that in order to watch a video you need a premium. These help kids learn and it is like forcing and is probably how chess.com makes its money. For a kid to learn, you should not have them pay.  That is why I like [another site -- VP] more these days. To chat makes sense, but to watch and make your chess better, I do not think it is nice. Of course, if this is ok for you, no problem. But I felt that many kids/adults feel like me so I made this.

Welcome to capitalism buddy

[another site -- VP]? Arch enemy of chess.com? Or, is it vice versa? I'm going to watch a video while you all figure that one out.

I can tell who you are voting for-we have rights to a bunch of free stuff and I want someone else to pay for it. I should not have to pay for the stuff I want. Pleeeeeeeeeeez. Stick to that other site you mention. Don't let the door hit ya. 😘

Have you seen the number of staff involved to run this site? there are about 150 people on staff - developers, designers, marketing, media, customer support, cheat detection, engine management, etc. etc.

How the he$$ do you think the owners of the site are paying for all that staff???

150 isn’t much, for a site this big, that grandmasters use.

Avatar of keep1teasy

chess.com has 150 staff members. Assuming they get median pay, around 50K annually, then chess.com spends 7.5 million each year.
