I don't understand how people with below-1000 ratings after hundreds of games...just don't quit ches

first two guys above couldn't be snobier
called being realistic. if you are rated 900 after 3000 games....it is obvious you suck, and should stop playing.

Well, similar applies to you then: you've played 1400 games over full two years and haven't budged over 2100. Why don't you quit, cause you ain't reaching master levels, no matter how hard you try and how much time/games you play. 😀
That argument makes absolutely zero sense. To reach ratings above 1000, you just have to master the very veryyy basics of the game. These people don't understand chess AT ALL. It is pointless to continue playing game after game at sub-1000 rating.

You also suck being a decent person, after [your age here] years, and you should probably kill yourself, cause you ain't improving. what? oh, it's fun to live? it's fun to play? oh, i see. you're a hypocrite then, mister. 😀

what is wrong with them? why don't they just quit?
Because it's fun to play.
Yes, but sub-1000 players have literally zero understanding of chess, besides how the pieces move. There is no art, no beauty at THAT level. It is just mindless drivel between awful players. Why continue playing game after game at sub-1000 level? (considering they have played like over 2000 games and continue to be sub-1000)

What's wrong with you? Some people just LIKE playing. Who are you to tell them they should stop just because they don't improve? Just leave them alone and stop being a dick.

Again, because at that level (sub-1000), there is absolutely ZERO art and beauty. Games are mindless shuffling of pieces with a blunder every other move. If you have played a few games and are sub-1000....NO PROBLEM, he is just a beginner learning to play. BUT after playing thousands of games, and you are STILL sub-1000, sorry you really should just quit.

that's the simple truth. some people like playing chess, even if they have no prospect of improving. absolutely nothing wrong with that.
why do they enjoy it? maybe they like the idea of playing a mind game, or making friends this way. or maybe they appreciate what to them is higher level chess even if they cant replicate it. i understand that if you a strong aspiring player, the idea of being stuck at the 1000 level seems ridiculous but they almost surely approach the game from a radically different angle.
P.S being a decent person is overrated.

I knew a guy with 100K games.
He played the same opening every time. As black and white. His rating didn't change for 10 years.
Some people just play for fun like that.
If he is rated 1600+.......then that is perfectly fine. If sub-1000 still, then he must be on the spectrum.
I constantly see people who have say a blitz rating of 850....after 3000 games!!! And they continue playing.....
I mean what is wrong with them? why don't they just quit?
