It is not an illusion as all other people can see as you do. It would be EXTREMELY unlikely that its an illusion to everyone else. An illusion is also usually mental so….u may just be a psychologically problematic person

Physicist say there is no universal 'now'...and so you can never know what someone is doing at a given time if they are...lets say, 4 light years away from you.

But consider this.

You and I are at a planet orbiting a star 2 light years away...you come back to Earth and I go in the opposite direct exactly 2 light years in the opposite direction. We both know the star in the middle will explode not long after we get to our respective destinations.

We agree at the time the star explodes we will both drink a toast to our friendship.

The star explodes. Given we are the same distance from the star, the light from the explosion will reach both of us at the same time.

So...you and I will both know what the other is doing exactly at that 'now'. Correct?

If I only have one hour a day to work on my chess, how would you recommend I use it.

Thanks in advance

Do a good amount of tactics, and after that play either a few blitz games or a longer game. At the lower levels tactics are the most important and easiest way to improve one's skill, and playing games afterwards is a good way to get experience. If time allows also try out the lessons section on here.

Study tactics! More personalized advice could be discussed in a trial lesson.

I can answer that.

In a Murfreesboro tournament....20-30 years ago I had 1400 level friend playing a 2200 level. The 2200 had blundered away...I think it was a queen. It was G/30 as I recall....and my friend took it, played a move or two and...just sat there.

Basically, he was scared he would blow it. So...he sat and let his time run out.

Think of it as a 'selfie'....a picture in time of maybe someone with James Dean....before he got behind the wheel and died in a car wreck. He will always have it in his collections...a totally winning position.
