I never asked
I have been asked this question a lot -
I've been asked a lot... how did I make $2,000 a week working just 3 hours a day from my own home? Well it's really easy actually. Call now and receive a free brochure.
It would have been better to ask people to post their own ideas and include your own as a community thing (which is what the forums are about), rather than put up a cheesy-sounding ad for your blog.
I have been asked the question. I wrote the answer out. Instead of rewriting the whole thing somewhere else, I put the link. This is not an attempt to get people to read my blog.
I don't gain anything, nor do I get paid. It is a sincere effort to help. No need and no motive to believe I am trying to make cheesy ads.
Defending to the accusation of me trying to make a "cheessy ad for a blog" ?
I am the one trying to help, sir. The only thing I see in return are trolls, and another flat-out accusing me.
Yea, no need to be defensive about it. What was I thinking ??
I went so far as to give you some helpful criticism as to why people would make fun of your post. Yet you see this advice as an attack, and you remain uptight and condescending toward everyone else in the thread.
Sorry that nobody has heaped flowers and praise on you yet for posting a link to your blog. Maybe you should take the hint that everyone is offering and, instead of taking yourself so seriously, relax and have a drink.
Everyone in the thread? You mean both trolls who did nothing but attempt to hijack and troll, and the person who tried to to accuse me of trying to make a cheesy ad. Do you recognize that your statement was that my post was a bad post because it was an attempt to make a cheesy ad? Do you remember doing that?
Sorry for being defensive when someone is on the offensive with accusations. I guess a normal reaction is not normal after all.
Let the thread be. Let the contribution stand. Could we please just cease with this and let the post do what the post is supposed to do?
@bladezii, once I followed your link and read the content it was great. I'm not sure why folks were dissing the way you posted the link. Go figure.
@bladezii, Au contre! Dumb comment's keep your thread on top and more likely to be read, you should thanks trolls for helping you get reads!
Neutral party here. Not a bad blog post at all. Unfortunately when you post a "teaser" title to a thread (Gosh, I wonder what question that is; I'd better click on it and see) you set yourself up for shenanigans. It's just the way the forums work. And of course once you demonstrate a "sensitivty" to criticism, then people pile on (and yes, I have been guilty on the odd occasion myself). There are plenty of serious chess discussions here but folks do enjoy giving each other a hard time almost as much. It is the internet after all.
bladezii, its the Internet - let it go without comment. Don't feed the trolls! However, I thing they were just having a bit of a chuckle, more than criticising.
I found your advice good. I shall be thinking carefully about quite a bit of it. At the very least; its a good read. Your efforts are praiseworthy.

By definition creating a topic forum in order to post a link to your blog is an attempt to get people to read your blog.
I'm amazed people are actually stopping to pick up the toys you threw out the pram rather than laughing and laughing some more at your impotent pique.
Here is my answer, my two cents. This is just a guide, or a sample, a pointer in the right direction, if you will.
