no, you are not

Play the tournament and just focus on playing your best level, your first tournament does not have to be a good tournament. 2000 Chess dot com ranking is a good starting point to absorb tournament experience, depending on the level of the tournament you can do very well, poorly or moderately well.

2000 rating ... bro you are almost gm happy

In the state of Oklahoma our #100 ranked player is only 1343, in the state of North Dakota 1343 puts you in top 25 in the state, I say go for it dude. You're not gonna win but at least you'll have a good official rating.

#100 in the entire country of Bulgaria is only 2004 elo rating. There's differences in online and Otb but you're probably top 500 in your entire country, I say go for it.

Definitely, just be calm and composed. You're in the top 1% on Chess.com

It depends on the tournament-in the UK most chess tournaments have sections by rating; 2000 on chess.com will be strong enough for the major sections (if you have a rating that high on chess.com your OTB rating is likely too high for minor sections of chess tournaments, or their equivalent) but likely not strong enough for open sections.

You've been ready for a while, just go for it.

To play or to win? You can be below 1000 rating and be ready to play a real tournament, better question are you ready to win?

Avatar of Wits-end

Why not? Go for it and enjoy the experience.

Yep. Me in the past with 1200 rating, I got consistently good results in Sarapu Cup. You have a rating of 800 higher, so I don't see why not.

++ Yes, you are. Bear in mind however, that over the board classical play is different from rapid online play. You have more time so you need to think harder and deeper.
This also requires more stamina to maintain a deep concentration over a longer duration.
