Tactics can only help you so much! Study imbalances!

Tactics, keep it simple. Do puzzles, play games, and review the games. 2000 should come with time if you do these three things consistently.

I been playing the scotch as white since 1300, never had to change it to make it to 2,000 so neither should you.

Imbalances are underrated!! One of the people who suggested tactics says that they are a “positionally challenged individual”. Tactics will only get you so far and are much slower for improvement. Understanding imbalances gives you guidance during every possible position. The ability to create plans in any position is underrated as heck! If you don’t understand imbalances or even know what that is STUDY THEM

Okay

Avatar of Chessmatic24

I’ll study them both

If you think you have good tactics don’t waste your time on more tactics
Avatar of Chessmatic24

im good at tactics

Avatar of Idrinkyourhealth3

don't study anything, don't do extra stuff, don't ask other people, and don't listen to any opinion , ignore everybody except your coach, if your coach is 2000+

You're not, if you were you wouldn't be 1,800, no offense. Though this is just me saying this and my perception of "good" is probably different then yours. To make it to 2,000 do tactics everyday, don't listen to this dude who seems to be disregarding them because they are important and don't equal slow improvement. Now I do agree on they can only take you so far but you have so much more to go till you are even close to that "far".
