I started chess at 11. is it possible for me to become a grandmaster

I am not a professional in any way or manner, and I'm not even average. However, I can assure you that most grandmasters whom I have seen, met, or even watched all began their journey at a young age and practiced relentlessly. You can't simply start and stop and expect to become a grandmaster. It's highly unlikely to achieve grandmaster status in your 30s if you only started your pursuit in your 20s. Even if you began as early as 11 years old, it's still a challenging journey.
Additionally, it's crucial to work smarter, not harder, to achieve your goals. While you can start at any age, it's more likely that starting at a young age, when your brain is in its prime learning phase, will be advantageous. Starting at a later age can be more challenging, especially in fields like esports , chess ,sports, where most pro gamers retire or become trainers after their late 35s,-40s as their cognitive abilities tend to decline compared to those still in their 20s.-30s.
edit: and yeah you cant get a grandmaster from 400 elo lol some people at your age got to gms

You joined this site 8 months ago. If had already reached 1800+ level you would be roughly on target, though even then the chances are quite slim.

Anything is possible. Believe in yourself.
Just focus on developing your game, go to lessons. Try to gain as much experience as possible here online before going for OTB tournaments.

11 definitely wouldn't be too old, but it also is a one in a billion shot no matter how early you start and even with the best training and support. WCC is a hyper elite club.

Age isn't as important as most people make it out to be. Is becoming a Grandmaster (or any titled player for that matter) possible? Yes.
Is it likely? No.
If you are age 11, then you are young and have the potential to improve a lot, so maybe you will become a titled player one day, but most people don't realize how much hard work it takes to become a titled player.
There are a few reasons why older adults tend to not improve as much as children, but one reason is because adults usually have other priorities in life which take their time (job, family, errands etc.), but someone younger usually has more time available to focus on chess and that means more chances to keep learning and improve.
Also, if you are only 11 years old, then make sure you have a chess.com parental consent form filled out because legally you must be at least 13 years old to use chess.com without that form. If you are younger, then it is easy to get that form filled out, but it is a needed step.
