I suck at chess and hate losing. How I deal with unadulterated rage?

Its hard for me to come out and say this, but I suck at chess and hate losing. I want to get better, but playing against Gnuchess and Stockfish its like banging my head on a wall. It literally makes my blood boil.

I mean, if chess gets you angry, then don't play it. It's not the game for easily angered people.

Do you have good hand eye coordination and reflexes?  If so, there’s a lot of competitive shooter games online you can play.

If you are a kid, then you attitude towards chess is wrong but it'll sort itself out so probably nothing to worry about.  Now, if you are older/adult, then the same still apply WRT attitude, except you really have a big problem and probably can benefit from professional psychiatric help.

Yes, my advice doesn't directly address "how to improve in chess", but it can help you a lot long term in everything (including chess).

I don't think psychiatrists would consider trolling a disorder.

Try playing daily chess games.  You get all the time in the world to look at your position, and the opening book is legal to use.

Its simply a matter of perspective. We are human, imperfect, prone to aberration and therefore making mistakes is inevitable. Its both irrational and illogical to assume otherwise. Computers do not have this problem, therefore measuring yourself against a computer and drawing conclusions on that basis is a false equivalence. Now to a solution. Soft music, scented candles to create an ambiance, a hot bath with someone you love, wine and poetry. This will bring you back to balance.

If you take a cast iron frying pan and hit yourself on the head every time you lose, you will soon stop losing. And breathing.

As the op said, this is not helpful - the op also sucks at aiming ...
