why would you want to be an IM? I don't see any advantage. it wouldn't get you rich, famous, basically nothing would change in your life, you would just be extremely good at chess, and it would take a lot of years of hardwork, money for coaches and tournaments... you can get the title if you work a lot on it, but I truly don't see a reason

You have to be good at most time controls typically slow games can help and do but mixing it up is fun

U started a few days ago sometimes it takes years or decades....
Ya man, either you got it or you don’t. Plus the amount of time you have to put in, not only into playing but studying/ analyzing. I’ve played on and off for years but have been going from about a year now, still bouncing between 1800-2000. Now I’m at a point where I’m playing less since there isn’t much progress in my play, plus I don’t feel like analyzing or studying…
As long as you are having fun, keep playing and if you want to get better, start to study, analyze, and I have heard some say play puzzle.
