I think the WCM title should not be given out anymore

comeon WCM is given at 1200 FIDE also , CM is given after 2000 FIDE

Generally, WCM is awarded at a 2000 FIDE rating and CM is awarded at a 2200 FIDE rating. Many players achieve these titles at lower ratings by placing top three in major international youth events.

I agree with @giants4008, and @2Ke21-0. Seems a bit strange to me to seperate woman's titles from men's, so I think there shouldn't be a WM system, just pool them together. But, taking that out of account, the title makes sense because someone who has earned that is clearly a great chess player. We're all used to seing the GM's who can destroy 2000's, but it is quite the achievement. (saying this from my 900 elo baby chair happy.png )

Hi

Women's titles should have been abolished decades ago when it became clear that ability wise, there's nothing to stop women becoming just as good as men.

Ability-wise, true - it's just all the other historical and systematic disincentives women have faced throughout that time:

The last systematic barriers to women competing in top level chess came down with the Polgar sisters. There's no legitimate reason for separate titles to exist 20 years later.

Susan Polgar wrote that first article and disagrees with you.
