Some interesting comments - I know titles are quite exciting but I think if we focus our energy on how to take this forward this would be even more exciting.

You do have a title. "Class Player" You've got class! Now study, take lessons anyway you can, play for at least 20 years, and then you'll probably have a more prestigious title! Most of all, avoid becoming overly serious! And even if criticised about your game, always remember, Chess Is The Game Of Kings!
man you should probably be ashamed to be 700-800 AND be a diamond member... i suck, but you have access to some really great resources to take advantage of which you obviously arent doing...
You have resources too. Not everyone needs a diamond membership to study chess.
I award everyone who writes to this site's forum a title, BS. Just add the letters BS to the end of your signature. In this instance it does not stand for Bachelor of Science, it stands for the other thing.
easy, start using an engine and soon you will have it titled across your forehead "Banned"

This all reminds me of the final scene from The Wizard of Oz, where the scarecrow finally gets a degree handed to him, certifying his braininess because he has the paper to prove it.
When actually, if you watch the whole movie, the scarecrow was one of the more intelligent characters. He knew how to get apples from the apple trees by insulting them and causing them to throw apples at him, he knew that if he cut the rope the chandelier would fall on the Wicked Witch's guards, etc.
To be fair, martial arts classes award titles (belts) just for showing up for a long enough period.
No, it has to do with abilities. If someone is not skillfull enough to go up a rank, then that person does not recieve the next rank.
I was a Bongcloud Master once.
