Just over a year ago, I was rated 500 blitz, and about 800 standard on this site. Now, I am rated 1200, and pushing for 1300 and beyond. I would just like to thank everyone who has been nice to this low rated pazter, and played with me, and helped me. Thank you everyone who has helped me, played with me, and taught me. Thank you.
I hope PuttingFromtheRough is kidding around. If not, we could do well without his lovely disposition. (That last part is...guess what...sarcastic. Keep playing, GoldenKiwi--most of us are decent people.
It's been a year for me. I'd like to offer thanks as well. chess.com has made chess such a great experience. ..

That was a nice sentiment by the op. I am sure that your opponents enjoyed the games as much as you did. Please don't let trolls bother you they are just sad little people who try to feel important by putting others down.I think going from 500 to over 1200 in a year is a very good accomplishment.I wish you luck in the future.

Thanks Yuri, the only book I have read is the foreword of My System. I just started having far more schoolwork enter my life, and a nice chess game at the end of my day is quite nice.
What I contribute to my rating rise is my weekly trip to the chess clubs, where I often play the resident masters (3 IMs, 2FMs, and 1 CM) and those above 1800. I have actually started winning aginst 1700 rated playerrs in long, 2 hour time controls, but I do find that online chess, I think and think until i get low, then blitz into a losing position.
Also, why would I change my icon? My golden gloves!!
