Idea for starting games at paste PGN option... to refinish games timed out, or

Seeking some creative help, can I propose a new idea in random starting variants possible.  I was in three games in a 24 hour per move tournament with just six players. If I could reload the original PGN where we left off at when I times out, then the games could be completed properly...I am asking if Chess.com staff can take a hint on this and please consider, they do so much else in the way of proper programming that I feel unafraid to suggest it.

In addition, this option would make it possible for the loser of a game to pinpoint the time at which he felt the game was equal, retrace his steps and try to calc a new set of moves to develop a more winning stance.  Then a game that was believed concluded can be rehashed out in a second game, if the challenge is accepted, and a new discovery of skills may result.

I feel the way to do this would be to have, as in the finely developed Chess Editor, a paste PGN, and a paste FEN button, so as to cover all options variant in setting up a board.  In this way, classic old games could be replayed as well, where the turning point or the blunder is sometimes avidly pinpointed by the video makers.  Greetings..

Also it just occurred to me that basic middle game and end game strategy could be the focus of a game, where the game was begun, assuming the pieces are in middle game or endgame status, and the players are measuring their each skill in this part of completing a game.  Would this auto become a measure that ranks on Chess 960? I think so maybe.  Please post..

I think what you're asking for probably goes against the principle that all games should start from a completely equal position (?)  After all, finished games whether drawn, ending in mate or timed-out are finished & shouldn't be resurrected.

If I understand you correctly, just because those games timed-out doesn't mean they didn't end properly ! In the end, a forfeited game is no different from being mated.

That aside, I agree that it would be useful to be able to play with an opponent from any given starting position (I've sometimes wanted to do that myself) but such a game,if recorded at all, would have to be kept separate from the rest of your chess history.

So as a training aid, it's a fine idea but if you mean that you want to change the outcome of finished games, that's not going to happen.

P.S.  You might want to move this thread to...(?)

I think that's a great ideia. if you are a mentor is better to give instructions to a student using a complete strategy you can get the student to comit error and fill them and perfect and get to the started point without losing time.

I agree complete Imp3. I think also it would be fun to replay master games from perceived turning points to a bnew conclusion as well.
