If Fischer would played Karpov for the World Champion, who would win?

I guess it is weird I don't play to other people. But I guess my purpose is to wait until I improve. To explain usually once I fail, its hard to pick myself back up. So now, I am studying, aquiring ideas and principles to get better. I just want to postpone playing until I imagine i am comfortable with my game. I AM SORRY. I only said that because I thought you were being somewhat personal or judgemental of my comment. Otherwise, looking back at it, I see you were trying to make a point. I didn't mean those things. I'm not that kind of person. And I don't want to be. I only ask of your forgiveness. Please don't walk away! I just ask of your forgiveness and unblocking of me?

Cmon, chess_gg, give him(her?) a chance! :)

I met Karpov back in the seventies when he gave a simultaneous display, He was by far the most Impressive player I have ever seen, he won all the games easily and unlike other top players I have seen give simultaneous displays he never once paused to think, immediately playing his move as soon as he arrived at the next board in line, I think I lasted about 10 moves against him....

.

That would have been awesome to see.

You don't need his forgiveness. With no disrespect to chess gg intended, he, or any individual member, can not determine your self worth just by blocking or not blocking you.

You might be right. But I hate to have someone mad at me. It feels terrible.

Really... We both said mean things to each other but its like you refuse to forgive or honestly believe I am truely sorry. I want you to unblock me so I can prove myself nice and kind like I should have in the beginning.

Elubas...wise up. He is a jerk. Don't you see his ploy? He wants me to unblock him so that he can write crud on my wall.

I suspect that I know this clown from one of his previous incarnations.

Am I trying to get blocked from Chess.com? Why would I do that?? And I am pretty sure I don't know you at all. That's why I feel guilty the most. I said this to an anonymous person. I know I hurt your feelings. I guess it was short sighted to retaliate to your comment. But my feelings were also hurt because I felt judged for no reason. I thought my statement was valid. I didn't want anyone to divide themselves with this forum about a match that didn't happen. What you said made me feel like a fool! Why did you even say it? Is there a reason in this world valid enough for what you said to me? I agree what I said was rediculous. But of all things, we can surely overlook this matter of inconvience. I definitely know I don't know you because if I did, I wouldn't have done this to a friend. What I ask is a little thing. What I give back is a great thing. I just want your forgiveness and unblocking of me from you.

Grow Up???

You're doing it again. This is exactly why I said the so called vulgar statement in the first place. What you said to me is also vulgar. Who does that? I make a non personal or critical message to everyone to just advise against people getting mad at each other. Then you completely destroy me by saying, "Do you come from one of those countries where you aren't allowed to have your own opinion?" You started this anyway!! I basically got flamed on. Sure I shouldn't have said it. But neither should you have said it. At least I deleted my comment. I'm trying to make peace. You're just sitting around still being mean for NO PARTICULAR REASON WHATSOEVER!!!! Why? I don't know. But I think you need to grow up. At least I apoligized and tried to make peace with you. That's mainly why I want to be unblocked. So I can give you a Dove/Peace Trophy. Being Blocked I can't do that. So with all due reasoning, understanding, sorrow, and respect in the world, I only ask to be unblocked and forgiven.

Probably neither Fisher nor Karpov would be very glad at reading such a discussion which initially was meant about their match which unfortunately did not take place in 1975. That's a good idea about a Dove Trophy

Fischer!

dude, it's spelt Fischer, not Fisher!

schachfan1

At the faculty of foreign languages I studied German and English. There is a German word "Fischer" meaning the same as the English "fisher", I just thought "Fischer" had the German spelling and I also thought that Bobby was not a German. Anyway thanks for educational advice, soupram

I give up I should have realized you would be the type to hold a grudge. In my view a person like you deserved it. I'm still sorry I said it but you ought to be ashamed of yourself making fun of me, and accusing falsely for no reason. I would have accepted an apology from you. Why not vise versa? We're both human. We all make mistakes. Your actions have left me no choice but to block you so you won't hurt me anymore. Enjoy your life cause I won't bother you anymore. But if you harass me with nasty comments on other things like forums, or whatever I post in you are only hurting yourself because I refuse to feel guilty for your own actions. And if you don't care, I don't care that you don't. Have a nice life and let me live mine.

Lithium is used to treat bipolar disorder.

Chess_gg thinks you are a nutcase, and the way you are carrying on, does nothing to prove him wrong.

We'll never know since the reigning champion refused to defend the title. As great as Bobby was, he went to great lengths to avoid Karpov. I believe even Fischer knew he would lose a match to Karpov. Anatoly wanted to play and win the title in the proper manner and acquiesced to most of Fischer's demands. The one demand not given to Fischer had to do with the naming of the match if i remember correctly. Fischer was great but he soiled the championship by ducking Karpov.

I think it is more correct to say he went to great lengths to break the corrupt FIDE's stranglehold on the title.

Fischer went to great lengths to avoid playing ever since 1972, after making all kinds of demands. I don't see what was so corrupt with FIDE's regulations compared to Fischer's seeing it as if he personally could change the rules in any way he wanted. Not just by avoiding the challenger that won the qualification, but also by introducing new rules intended to make it more difficult for the challenger than it had been for himself.
