To pop up in the tab, I think you would already have to be one of the three most popular streamers currently streaming.

Jon Speelman often streams from his "bedroom" (by the looks of it) and he is very casual about it. I tune in and out when he streams.

As a streamer myself you would most likely need to be affiliated as well to be put in streamers tab which requires 4 things (50 followers can be done by streaming enough, an average of 3 viewers from the last 30 days streamed, 1 unique streaming day in the last 30 days, and like 3 hours average streamed over the last 30 days) [for the averages and unique day you must already have 50 followers]
