Ilikewindmills, MY FREAKING CHUM (chess related)

No, the title is not clickbait.

@Ilikewindmills (may he rest in peace, currently muted) has been a good friend of mine for a lot of time now, we met on a springbreak to New Zealand (lots of pretty girls) and discovered we shared the same interests, fooling around, trolling, and chess. We played a lot of chess back in New Zealand and after springbreak ended and we had both went to our respective desert (Mexico) and oven (Australia m8) we stayed in contact trough chess.com and have had interesting games. I want to comment on this one and ask existential questions.

Here are my questions:
1- What is his style? Positionally agressive? Sharply passive? Tactically manouvering?
2- What do you think influenced that style?
3- Why did he took on b4?

What you all came for:
CHESS.COM, WHY THE HECK DID YOU MUTE THE GUY? AND WHY DONT YOU ANSWER THE MAILS? HE IS MY CHUM, IT BREAKS MY HEART TO SEE HIM IN JAIL.

You called your friend a freak - That's not very nice.

We are chums, we can handle it.

@ BP:

Your petition says he was "muted without a reason."  Surely that's not true -- obviously they had a reason.  You might not agree with it, but it's a reason nonetheless.

What did he do?  I'd like to hear your side of the story before considering signing any petition, and i imagine others would be interested in hearing it as well.

Ilikewindmills said he asked the staff why and that they havent answered, its been 2 weeks.

Talk about chess too so this does not get moved from general chess discussion, im trying hard.

Speaking of chess... some people have been premoving in the opening (3 min blitz) vs me. Sometimes I notice in time :)

Some games have gone something like

1.e4 b6 2.Ba6 Bb7 3.Bxb7 1-0 or 1.g3 d5 2.Bg2 Bh3 3.Nf3 Bxg2 0-1

I thought that was a bullet myth... until it happened to me in a Kings Indian defense LOL.

1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 g6 3.Bh6 Bg7 4.Bxg7!!!!!!

Chum may refer to:

  • Chum salmon, a kind of salmon (Oncorhynchus keta), native to the northern Pacific and adjacent waterways
  • Chum (tent), a nomadic tent, of the Yamal-Nenets reindeer herders in Western Siberia
  • Chum, a bait (luring substance) for fish, including sharks
  • Chums (paper), a British boys newspaper published from 1892 to 1941
  • Chums Scout Patrols, early Scouting groups started through the Chum paper
  • Chums, a segment on the TV series SMTV Live, parodying the American sitcom Friends
  • Chum, the old German name of the Italian city Como
  • "Chum" (song), a song by Earl Sweatshirt
  • Chum; slang especially in England for friend. 'Mate' means much the same thing.
  • Chum patties; burger of "Chum bucket" of Spongebob Squarepants

Chum is kind of an interesting word, can actually be an insult here in the U.S., "you chum bucket" is an example....guess it just means friend in other places....we used to "chum" the waters before we went fishing in Florida with a bunch of smelly ground seafood parts to attract the fish.

I haven't signed it because you've given me no reason to believe that he wasn't muted for a reason, and chess.com has given me no reason to believe that they'd mute someone for no reason.

I'm not trying to be a jerk -- sell me a story -- i might buy it.  I'm all ears.

If you're worried about this thread being moved, that's probably justified -- so start another one in 'Off Topic' dedicated solely to this muting business.

Bilbo21

1 - opportunistically defensive

2 - Bobby Fischer.  And how white was applying constant pressure, especially through pushing the b and c pawns.

3 - I guess he didn't want a 4 long chain of pawns on the white squares, with your black bishop to weave through (a6 stopped this too)
